PubMed/Medline is the National Library of Medicine’s database to references to more than 16 million articles published in 5200 biomedical journals. You can search PubMed/Medline to find information about articles on a topic. Many of the listings have short summaries with some providing a link to the full articles. A series of short tutorials are available from the search interface.

How to obtain articles when searching PubMed
PubMed/Medline does not include copies of journal articles but does link to the full text of some articles when available.  Access may be free or may require payment.  Searching PubMed provides several options in obtaining full text articles:

PubMed Central
PubMed Central (PMC) is the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature.

Link Out
Click on the LinkOut icon in PubMed.  You will leave PubMed and be directed to the full text of an articles at an external site.

Loansome Doc
The Send to Order link in PubMed allows you to order the full text copy of an article from a library using an automated document ordering program called Loansome Doc.  You will need to establish an agreement with a particpating library.  The University of Rochester Edward G.
